The German sledding legend has decided to leave the Teutonic national team for many years, after being partly the architect of the successes of Felix Loch and Natalie Geinsenberger above all.

The rumors had already been circulating for a few weeks, yesterday the official announcement arrived: Georg Hackl leaves his role as coach within the German national sledding team to move to Austria.
Hackl, winner of three Olympic golds and eight world championships in the course of his career, has also won two general world cups, becoming one of the legends of sledding. "I understand that this is a bolt from the blue for the German luge team, but the Austrian offer was really important" - Hackl told the Austrian media. The former German toboggan runner will therefore join his longtime rival, the Austrian Markus Prock, current president of the Austrian federation.
The greetings of the two probably most representative athletes trained by Hackl over the years were not long in coming. Natalie Geisenberger greeted her former coach with a post on her Facebook page: "I don't have much to say, except thank you for these 14 years of great success together! You have been a puzzle piece in my career and I will never forget that. you gave me ". Also the German champion Felix Loch entrusted to a post on Facebook his thanks and greetings for Hackl: "It hurts a lot that he leaves us after so many years. We have known each other since I was little and you were much more than a coach to me. You were my idol as a child, I would have liked to retire with you. Thank you "Schorsch" for being with me for most of my life! ".
