Luge: another great single race for the South Tyrolean, now 3rd in the general. Rieder / Kainzwaldner fourth in the doubles that sees Eggert / Benecken prevent the two goals from host Latvia.

The fourth podium of the season, with another 3rd place of quality for Dominik Fischnaller who, even on the gut of Sigulda, confirms himself in an increasingly growing condition, bringing home a significant result in the single race that opened the new Latvian stage of World Cup. Second ex aequo with Felix Loch after the first run, just 48 thousandths from the host Kristers Aparjods, the blue leader concluded on the third step, preceded by only 15 thousandths from the German champion, two tenths from the Latvian author of a second test amazing. Then Roman Repilov and Nico Gleirscher to complete the top five, while Kevin Fischnaller is 14th and Lukas Gufler 29th; for Dominik, he is now third place in the cup overall, albeit always over 200 points behind the leader Johannes Ludwig, now only 13th, and also behind Wolfgang Kindl, who finished ninth in Sigulda. The men's doubles completed the first day, with Germany winning thanks to Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken, able to mock Andris and Juris Sics for only 37 thousandths, a breath away from the possible Latvian brace, while Wendl / Arlt finished third, to almost two tenths from compatriots. Still at the foot of the podium Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner, fourth (less than a tenth from third place), with Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner seventh and Nagler / Malleier noni. The program of the Sigulda stage will continue on Sunday with the women's single in the morning and then the three sprint races in series.
