The first round of the Luge World Cup on a natural slope ends with three other podiums for Italy. In Winterleiten, Austria, the duo of Patrick Pigneter and Evelyn Lanthaler won the team competition hands down, beating the Austrians Diepold / Scheikl by almost 3 ”and the Germans Sarah and Oliver Shiller.
In the men's single, Pigneter himself and Alex Gruber finished in second and third place, 1 ”31 and 1” 36 behind the host Michael Scheikl. Successes that are paired with what is "combined" by the blue squadron in the first two days of competition, with double goals by Lanthaler in the single and by Pigneter / Clara in the double, as well as an impressive series of podiums.
