After the double medal of the opening day, the Italy of sledding has to settle for top ten placings in today's two races of the world sledding championships.
On the gut of Sochi, the men's doubles saw Germany interrupt Russian domination, with Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken world champion in front of Denisev-Antonov and compatriots Wendl-Artl, forced to settle for bronze. For the blue flagship pair, already silver in the sprint, or Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner, fifth final place with Nagler-Malleier instead eighth and Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner twelfths.
In the women's single, the Russian Ekaterina Katnikova, who burned for less than a tenth Julia Taublitz, with another Russian on the podium, or Viktoria Demchenko third, has emerged. Andrea Voetter was the best Italian, tenth at the end, with Verena Hofer 15 ^, Marion Oberhofer 18 ^ and Nina Zoeggeler 19 ^.
Sunday the grand finale, with the Azzurri playing very important cards starting from Dominik Fischnaller, already bronze in the sprint, and with the team relay.

Patrick Pigneter and Florian Clara won the World Cup doubles for the eleventh time; the last race of the season in Umhausen saw the two Azzurri dominate ahead of the Russians Porshnev-Lazarev and another Italian couple, with third place for Matthias and Patrick Lambacher, also on the general podium.
And Italy has also dictated the law among women, with Evelin Lanthaler, already confident of the fourth crystal ball, who also won the last race in front of teammate Greta Pinggera, second also in the final classification of the Coppa del World.
On the other hand, Patrick Pigneter and Alex Gruber did not succeed on the individual level; the Cup went to the Austrian Thomas Kammerlander, who thanks to today's success has mocked teammate Michael Scheikl, with Pigneter third.
