FIL has decided to remove the Whistler and Lake Placid stages from the 2021/2022 World Cup calendar, due to entry restrictions on North American territory. The two stages have been rescheduled in Sochi.

News regarding the new season of the Luge World Cup: the stages of Whistler (Canada) and Lake Placid (United States) have been canceled due to the entry restrictions in force in the two North American states.
So, even in the season that kicks off in less than three months, there will be no races in North America, just like last season. With an official press release from FIL, the location that will replace the two competition venues mentioned above has already been announced: it is Sochi, in Russia, where from 26-28 November and from 3-5 December, at the '' Sanki Olympic Sliding Center '' two stages of the World Cup will be staged.
We remind you that the 2021/2022 season of the Luge World Cup will start from Yanqing on November 19, which will also host the Olympic Games in February 2022.
