Tobogganing on a natural track: the Azzurri complete the cup en plein with Lanthaler and Pigneter / Clara

On the second and final day of competition in Lasa, the Azzurri still dominate. And now with the Umhausen World Cup next weekend.

Six wins in six races, which means absolute domination. Thus in Lasa, Evelin Lanthaler closed the women's luge world cup on natural slope, with full points: 600 points for the fifth consecutive crystal ball and today, in the last race, the blue champion completed the masterpiece, beating the Austrian Tina Unterberger and the usual Greta Pinggera, still on the podium of the women's single like yesterday, but in this case on the third step of the podium to conclude, however, second in the general classification. The Italian squadron touched the hat-trick in the final standings, with Unterberger herself taking third place from Daniela Mittermair, who was seventh today, while in the final race Nadine Staffler finished fourth, just at the foot of the podium. It was again the great day for Patrick Pigneter and Florian Clara too: after the triumph on Tuesday, a third place in the last race of the season was enough to win the World Cup, which they had dominated since from the start, winning four out of six races. In second place of the general, another promising Italian couple, the one formed by Patrick and Matthias Lambacher. The last race decreed the success of the Russians Porshnev / Lazarev, 14 cents better than the Austrians Achenrainer / Achenrainer, third overall, and then the Azzurri Pigneter / Clara at 27 cents. The Lambacher brothers finished in seventh place. Saturday and Sunday the great event that will close the season, or the world championships scheduled on the Austrian gut of Umhausen.
