The year of speed skating has finally begun in the Netherlands: good placings for the Azzurri also with Lollobrigida and Giovannini.

The long-track European Championships for the Italian national team ended with a splendid sixth position in the Sprint and two top ten placings in the Allround. Maurizio Marchetto and sprint coach Matteo Anesi.
On the second day of the continental review on the Dutch ice of the Thialf in Heerenveen, the great blue protagonist is David Bosa, able to confirm the sixth place on Saturday in the general classification of the Sprint thanks to two further tests of value on 500 and 1000 meters. On the shortest distance, the Trentino sprinter born in '92 finished 14th with a time of 35 ”68 and then finished in seventh position on 1000 meters with a time of 1''09” 52.
Great satisfaction therefore for Bosa who, in addition to improving by a lot his best career placement in the Sprint Europeans represented to date by the tenth place in the 2018/19 season, even conquers the best placement ever for an Italian skater at the European Sprint. A hint of regret instead for the performance of the other blues involved in the Allround competition. In the first Sunday test, the one on 1500 meters, Francesca Lollobrigida (Aeronautica Militare) and Andrea Giovannini (Fiamme Gialle) did not manage to recover the ground necessary to center the qualification on the final distances, namely the 5000 for women and the 10,000 For the men.
The 29-year-old from the Italian Air Force closed her 1500 meters in 12th place with a time of 1''58 "86 while the Trentino-born ''93 finished 11th in 1''48" 18. Hence the tenth position for both in the general classification of the Allround, however important placings in a completely anomalous season and conditioned by a difficult preparation and approach to these competitions in the Heerenveen bubble. Still on the 1500s, the other two Azzurri in the race were more late: Linda Rossi (Torollski Center) among women, despite her personal best of 2''02 "50, recorded the 18th time over distance and Michele Malfatti (Flames Gialle) among men he did not go beyond 16th place in 1''50 ”11.
The '97 class of the Marches thus placed herself in 17th position in the general classification with Malfatti 16th instead. From tomorrow head to the next appointments on the calendar, always on the ice of Heerenveen: in fact, two World Cup stages are scheduled from 22 to 24 January and from 29 to 31 of the month, then the World Cup from 11 to 14 February.
