According to ANSA news agency, this year was a record season in Valle d'Aosta, which recorded a 15% increase compared to last year, a turnover of around 78.5 million euros and 6 percent more than in the 2016-2017 season which so far boasted the best result.

Attendance had an 8 percent increase, exceeding 2.5 million.
"This result rewards the good work done by those who operate and manage the cableway companies and is an incentive to continue investing in this leading sector for the economic development of our Region" said Luigi Bertschy, Regional Councilor for Transport.
The districts that recorded the highest number of visitors were Cervino spa and La Thuile. In the 2016/2017 season, on the other hand, the Breuil-Cervinia ski area was in front of Courmayeur, Monterosa Ski, Pila and La Thuile.

San Domenico di Varzo
San Domenico di Varzo è una località sciistica dell’alta Val Cairasca, valle laterale della Val Divedro, nel cuore delle Alpi Lepontine. Il piccolo abitato si trova a 1.420 metri di quota, circondato da boschi e dominato dalle montagne del gruppo del Monte Leone. L’ambiente diventa progressivamente più aperto salendo verso l’Alpe Ciamporino e il Dosso, da dove il panorama spazia sulla piana del Devero e sulle cime dell’Ossola.
