San Candido manages to end the ski cup World Cup weekend: Joos Berry and Fanny Smith triumph

The only blue with access to the final phase of today's race, Siegmar Klotz, came out in the round of 16. For Switzerland double on a ... magical track.

A brace at the Swiss home ends a tough weekend, but eventually brought home by the organizers of San Candido, for the stage of the World Cup of skicross which saw the South Tyrolean resort manage to send on stage, after today's cancellation, the second of the two races scheduled on the "Baranci". A magical track for the Swiss, given that Joos Berry and Fanny Smith, the winners of this stage, had already won in San Candido several times in the past. The only blue in the final phase, Siegmar Klotz, was eliminated in the round of 16, as on the occasion of the inaugural race of Val Thorens (instead in Arosa he was out in qualifying). Berry, who preceded Frenchman Midol and compatriot Lenherr (with the cup leader, Kevin Drury, surprisingly out in the round of 16), had won on "Baranci" exactly one year, for his first and only victory in the maximum circuit, at least until today. As for Fanny Smith, however, 21st triumph in the World Cup and fourth pearl in San Candido: "A place that I love - said the 27 year old Swiss - because the track is attractive and you can make various overtaking, ideal for skicross" . The Swiss bent the Canadian Marielle Thompson and the German Daniela Maier in the final, with Sandra Naeslund only fourth after making a decisive mistake.
