Mourning in curling blue. A 90 year-old missed the'' architect of the development of the discipline of ice and Cortina in Italy. Ivo Lorenzi, uncle of Marco Lorenzi TV commentator, was player, manager and president of the Italian Association'' from 1970 to 1992.

Saturday, November 9 the small world of curling in our house has lost the most important figure (together with Franco Zumofen, his successor), in particular in the spread in Cortina d'' Ampezzo in the Dolomites and the game of Scottish origin. A must Ivo Lorenzi in 1972 the'' affiliate'' current'' s Italy in World Curling Federartion.
Five years later, he played his only European to lead on the ice of Oslo close to the podium: with Joseph Dal Molin, Giancarlo Valt and Aeneas Pavani he finished in fourth place. His adventure began in 1966 when a true pioneer the fusion of the CC Bob Curling Club Crystal and the CC Miramonti was born on Dolomites Curling Club, of which he was president bringing it to win the Italian title in 1969.
Ivo Lorenzi was also vice president of the prestigious Royal Caledonian Curling Club, historical association founded in 1838 in Edinburgh, who first defined the rules of the game in those days was staged on the loch in the Highlands.
