World Heli Challenge
From August 4 to 17 will be staged in Wanaka, New Zealand, the World Heli Challenge 2013, which will compete the best skiers and snowboarders from all over the world. The goal will be to try the athlete "all rounder", that is the best athlete who knows how to combine all the skills, talent and overall ability in the big mountain, backcountry and freestyle.

The two basic elements of the World Heli Challenge are l '"Extreme Day" and the "Freestyle Day" to be held in the backcountry in the majestic Southern Alps surrounding Wanaka. All this, weather permitting seen the use of the helicopter.
In particular, the Extreme Day will see athletes come down from the steep slopes of the largest mountains, falling from cliffs while the stunning Freestyle Day will showcase aerial and acrobatic skills of an athlete.
The scores will be added on both days to elect the best athlete "all round" in the four disciplines: men's ski, snowboard men, women's ski and snowboard female.
The judges then have the task of appointing a single winner "X Factor" between men and women who will take home the trophy, with the chance to win a week between the filming of the Points North Heli in Cordova, Alaska, and receive automatically free entry to the World Heli Challenge 2014, to defend his title.
Also this year for skiers young people aged between 12 and 16 years, will be held from July 26 to August 3, the first edition of the Junior World Heli Challenge that will give athletes the opportunity smaller to experience the thrill of competing with other kids in the backcountry and freeride show their skills in a full week of action in the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
