Skiing in New Zealand. Cardrona, the goal of Pipe Riders

Located on New Zealand's South Island, including Quennstown and Wanaka, Cardrona is the ideal destination for families and for those who love freestyle. The ski resort, which will open from June 21 until October 6, lies at 1670 meters and has 345 acres of slopes suitable for all levels, eight black, eight red, four blue and three green served by four chairlifts and two walkways and a ski lift for a transport capacity of 11,000 people per hour. The slopes Arcadia and Tulips are the most challenging, able to offer a real challenge for advanced skiers.

Cardrona is the element that distinguishes Olympic Super Pipe 22ft high, equal to 6.70 m, which was the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere and allows experts pipe riders push the boundaries of the impossible and is was the venue for training of six athletes who have won an Olympic medal in the pipe in Vancouver 2010. Because of the presence of a Freestyle Park, with jumps, hits, ramps, banks, fun boxes, jibs, rails, half pipes, quarter pipes, snow-cross, bump terrain and other figures made or natural, the "National Ski Areas Association & rdquo , and the "Burton Snowboards" have developed the initiative "Smart Style Freestyle Terrain Safety", a cooperative effort to manage the rules of behavior and to help the development of "Freestyle Terrain" in mountain resorts. And for those who want to improve their technical freestyle, this is the school "Cardrona Freeski Squad" which offers freestyler teaching routes likely to make students become competitive athletes. There is no shortage of ski and snowboard schools for children and schools of training for those who want to become a ski instructor.

Mottarone

Mottarone
