Historic double for the Azzurri in the PSL of Piancavallo: first triumph in CdM for Marc Hofer!

After Lorenzo Sommariva's seal in the Reiteralm snowboard cross, the boards of Cesare Pisoni's group are also exalted in Friuli: Coratti is second, among the women victory ex aequo for Zogg and Miki, with Nadya Ochner seventh and Lucia Dalmasso ninth.

A day to remember for blue snowboarding. In Piancavallo, a somewhat unexpected triumph was completed, with the first success of an Italian athlete in the Alpine disciplines this season. Not thanks to Roland Fischnaller or Mirko Felicetti, just to name a couple of the movement's reference names, but to the 24-year-old South Tyrolean Marc Hofer, who never before had passed the qualifying cut in a World Cup race. Well, in Piancavallo he went to take the success in the parallel slalom that opened the penultimate stage of the maximum circuit, beating Edwin Coratti in the final for a historic double by the team led by Cesare Pisoni. Hofer signed the feat in the semifinals, beating the leader of the general Sangho Lee, then climbed to the third step of the podium, to then complete his masterpiece in a day that saw Aaron March finish in fifth place, followed in seventh position by Gabriel Messner and just out of the top ten, eleventh, Roland Fischnaller with Mirko Felicetti 13th. In the women's field, ex aequo victory for the Swiss Julie Zogg and the Japanese Tsubaki Miki. Third was the German Ramona Hofmeister who defeated the Austrian Daniela Ulbing in the final. The only two Italians in the race managed to hit the top ten, Nadya Ochner and Lucia Dalmasso (eliminated in the second round for just one hundredth), respectively in seventh and ninth place. Appointment on Sunday in Piancavallo with the team trial, starting at 13.00.
