Austria again, again with Arvid Auner, never a winner until yesterday in the World Cup and triumphing twice in less than 24 hours, and a great champion like Julia Dujmovits, who as a couple (representing Austria 4) took home the first mixed team competition of the World Cup season, the PSL took place today in Bad Gastein.
After the victories of Ulbing and precisely of Auner himself in the two parallel individual slaloms last night, the home reds and whites signed their third success in the historic appointment on the Salzburg snow; beaten in the final Russia 2 by Karlagachev and Soboleva (yesterday on the podium), who in the semifinals had the better of Switzerland 2 represented by Nevin Galmarini and Ladina Jenny, also beaten by Germany 1 (with Elias Huber and Ramona Hofmeister) in the small final for third place, which then smiled at the German couple.
The parallel Snowboard World Cup does not stop and remains in Austria, given that between Friday and Saturday, in Simonhoehe, the last stage before the Beijing Games will be staged, with a PGS and another team event in the menu; on that occasion the Azzurri will also be back as protagonists, who have skipped the appointment in Bad Gastein to better concentrate on a fundamental race like the one scheduled in two days, considering that the parallel giant, or the Olympic specialty, will be decisive for assign the four tickets to five circles in the very tough internal struggle of a battleship like the Italian men's team.
