The calls for the first appointment, scheduled for next weekend on the Chinese snow, are official. Sommariva and Visintin the references of the male team.

Six men and four women are the Italian athletes chosen for the opening of the Snowboard Cross World Cup, scheduled on the Olympic slope of Secret Garden, on Friday 26 November with the qualifications and on Sunday 28 with the two races, male and female, in which the Azzurri are aiming very high considering the quality of the group led by the technical director Cesare Pisoni.
Omar Visintin, Lorenzo Sommariva, Tommaso Leoni, Michele Godino, Filippo Ferrari and Matteo Menconi make up the men's team that will go in search of the first points of the season, while the women's team, without Raffaella Brutto who announced the maternity stop, will clearly have in the Olympic champion Michela Moioli il faro, with Caterina Carpano, Francesca Gallina and Sofia Belingheri.
The Secret Garden stage will open a season finally made up of a calendar full of eleven races, as never happened in the past. In fact, it will also take place in Montafon, Austria, with the pre-Christmas race in Cervinia and then with the new year the Russian trip to Krasnoyarsk, again Italy with Chiesa Valmalenco and Cortina, before Mont St. Anne, Reiteralm and Veysonnaz, with the finals of 20 March 2022.
In between, of course, the Olympic competition of 9 February 2022. Italy presents itself on the basis of the six podiums won in 2020/21 (with three victories), the second place of Michela Moioli in the general female ranking and the sixth of Sommariva and the seventh for Visintin in the men, in addition to world silver with the same Bergamo champion both individually and paired with Sommariva.
