The Train of Taste: a gastronomic journey through snowy landscapes

Have you ever dreamed of taking a fascinating journey? A train ride in the snowy Alps and the small mountain villages? The Train of Taste is not a dream but a reality: a small blue and white train crossing the Alps in a charming period like the winter, it stops to introduce you to the small villages of Piedmont and culinary specialties of the area.

The Piedmont is the star of this offer proposed by Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway, which offers a unique and charming. Thanks to the free movement tickets you can live one or two days in the snow-covered nature of the Piedmont Alps and taste the good local cuisine. A 52-kilometer line that runs through the Valley Ossola, the Vighezzo Valley, Centovalli and reaches down to Lake Maggiore: it starts from Domodossola and arrive in Locarno, for a truly unique journey to discover the flavors Ossola (for passengers are in fact provided discounts and gastronomic gifts). The journey starts from Domodossola, a medieval town characterized by un''architettura interesting. The wine and food shopping can start before leaving: free tastings at the Cantine Garrone, discounts at the craft brewery Balabiott, free homemade chocolate ... The first stop leads to Masera, where you can visit the sausage factory of Divin Porcello. A Santa Maria Maggiore will be the stars of the sweet pastry Poggini, the mountain Ham Vigezzo and Coimo black bread. For lovers of skiing and walking in the snow, the stops of the Taste train, can be an excellent starting point to reach the ski slopes, or to get to areas perfect for alpine skiing or snowshoeing suggestive.
