The FISI has announced that eight will compete in the "junior" category, while seven in the "young" category. The world championship event will take place from 24 February to 6 March, on the Austrian snows of Obertilliach.

The Italy of biathlon is ready for the Junior World Championship in Obertilliach. Today the FISI has announced, on its official website, the names of the fifteen athletes who will fight to win a world medal. In the "junior" category, four biathletes for the male sector and four biathletes for the female sector will compete. The men's team will count a lot on Iacopo Leonesio (bronze in the relay of the last junior World Cup); Christille Cedric, Michele Molinari and Davide Zingerle were called together with him. Among the girls the spotlights will be on Rebecca Passler (junior silver in the individual of Lenzerhaide 2020), who will be joined by Hannah Auchentaller, Gaia Brunetto and Beatrice Trabucchi. As regards the "young" category, on the other hand, seven elements were required. Nicolò Betemps, Marco Barale, Stefan Navillod and Fabio Piller Cottrer will compete in the men's sector. In the women's sector Linda Zingerle, gold in the young sprint of Lenzerhaide 2020, will certainly be the top biathlete of our selection; in addition to the eighteen year old South Tyrolean, winner in 2020 of the "Piotr Nurowski" award (recognition that rewards the best young sportswoman of the year at European level), Martina Trabucchi and Sara Scattolo were called. The world championship event will start on Wednesday 24 February and end on Saturday 6 March.
