The first blue joy to sign ... Doro: "Fantastic day, let's go to the Olympics with confidence"

Dorothea Wierer, 14 months after the last time, reported a success to a troubled biathlon team. The pearl in the mass start of Anterselva has a weight also in Beijing: its feelings after the race.

The first season of the Italbiathlon could only bear her signature, she who had already been the only blue to hit a podium in this very complicated Olympic year, climbing on the third step in the Ruhpolding Sprint. Dorothea Wierer achieved a success that, net of the absences of weight for the Italian stage of the World Cup (the leader Roeiseland and the Oeberg sisters above all), is valid for the performance staged on skis by the South Tyrolean champion in the mass start in Anterselva, and for the confidence it can give in the Beijing Olympic Games, where “Doro” will go in search of the first individual medal of his career in a five-circle review. There are 13 successes in CdM, 14 months after the last one in the Kontiolahti Individual and almost three years from the Oestersund 2019 world mass. I felt tired, I didn't think I was competitive in the race. Instead I managed to put together five very competitive laps and luckily good shooting sessions, apart from the first series on the ground in which I made two mistakes. But I was able to stay calm, I concentrated on skiing until I felt better lap after lap, even though my head was telling me that I couldn't go that much faster. The coaches along the track really supported me, I'm happy to have achieved this result. Now I unplug for two days, I really need it. We will do a few more days of training to refine the condition and on Saturday we will leave for China ”.
