At 12:05 the start with Lisa Vittozzi immediately on the track. There are five blue on the starting list, thanks to the gold medal won by Wierer on the snows of Anterselva. It promises to be a very long race, with possible insertions at the top of high bibs.

On the eve of the world championships, the women's 15 km was indicated as a medal race for the Italian national team, which includes Wierer, outgoing world champion and just back from a great comeback in the Pursuit. Italy that can also count on Vittozzi. For her, the Pursuit was disappointing but the Lisa seen in the Relay and Sprint can certainly have her say for the podium. Among the blue ranks we will also see Carrara, Lardschneider and Sanfilippo on the track.

Last year in Anterselva the silver went to the German Hinz and the bronze to Roeiseland. For the Norwegian this does not seem the magical world like the Italian one and the 15 km format remains the most difficult format for her. As well as for Tiril Eckhoff, which however seems to succeed in everything perfectly. In the two previous seasons, won by Wierer (Kontiolahti) and Hauser (Anterselva), six athletes got on the podium. The Austrian is a serious candidate for the title, due to her characteristics and form. For a medal there will be Hanna Oeberg, perhaps not 100% on skis, but a true format specialist.

In Val Pusteria sono andate in scena due giornate della versione estiva dello sci di fondo, con Marco Pinzani e Federica Cassol che hanno tronfato nella sprint del sabato sull'asfalto di Anterselva. A Dobbiaco, invece, le 10 km in alternato hanno regalato il successo a Davide Graz e Maria Gismondi, all'interno della cornice della Nordic Arena per quella che è stata la prima tappa della Coppa Italia invernale.
