Cross-country skiing: bronze Italy in the junior men's relay! Victory to Norway, Sweden triumphs among women

The blue quartet (Longo, Chiocchetti, Barp and Sclisizzo) wins the first medal in cross-country skiing at the Vuokatti World Championship; gold to Norway, silver to Finland. Sweden beat Russia in the women's competition, Norway third. In the mixed Under 23 relay, Norway won ahead of Russia and Sweden.

The first Italian medal in cross-country skiing arrives in Vuokatti: the blue team won bronze in the men's 4x5 km relay, junior category. The Italian relay, made up of Fabio Longo, Alessandro Chiocchetti, Luca Sclisizzo and Elia Barp, beat Russia at the photo-finish, bringing home an excellent result. Gold to Norway, silver to the hosts of Finland, who played a very high level test. In the junior women's competition Sweden (Rosenberg, Eriksson, Ingesson and Hansson) took gold, despite the excellent recovery in the final by Russia, led by yesterday's individual winner Veronika Stepanova. Bronze for Norway. Disappointing performance of the blue quartet (Anna Rossi, Iris De Martin Pinter, Sara Hutter and Veronica Silvestri): the Italian girls took only 11th place, remaining lagged from the top positions from the very beginning. The Under 23 mixed relay, on the other hand, went to Norway (Harnesen, Hope, Moseby and Amundsen); silver for Russia (Faleeva, Ardashev, Terentev, Grukhvina) and bronze for Sweden (Abrahamsson, Andersson, Herbert and Lindstroem). Eighth is the Italian relay, composed of Martina Di Centa, Michele Gasperi, Davide Graz and Chiara De Zolt Ponte, at the end of a race where she has never entered the fight for medals. Tomorrow the world championship event will end with the 15 km in the women's line and the 30 km in the men's line, both in the junior category.
