Wierer and Hofer ready for a special edition of the "Biathlon World Team Challenge"

The two Azzurri, winners in 2018, competing in Ruhpolding (exceptionally no Gelsenkirchen) on December 28th in the traditional post-Christmas kermesse-exhibition.

Pending the resumption of the World Cup with the stages in January, from 8 January in Oberhof, the other cradle of biathlon in Germany, Ruhpolding, will host the traditional event with the "Biathlon World Team Challenge ”set for the evening of Monday 28 December. Exceptionally, due to the current pandemic situation, we will not compete in front of the extraordinary audience of the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, but the organizers still wanted to save the appointment, now in its 19th edition. And as has become tradition, there will also be Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer, already winners in 2018 and certainly among the favorites for next Monday's challenge, which includes the mass start at 6.15 pm, followed by the pursuit at 19.05. Eight of the ten participating couples have been made official: in addition to the Azzurri, there will be Herrmann-Doll and Preuss.Schempp for Germany, Hauser-Eberhard to represent Austria, Pavlova-Eliseev (Russia), Davidova-Krcmar (Czech Rep. ), Vita Semerenko and Pidrushnyi for Ukraine and Hoegberg-Stenerson for Sweden.
