A seasonal debut in the World Cup that sees Italy far away, in the four-man bobsleigh test staged last weekend in Winterberg.
The blue crew led by Patrick Baumgartner, with Costantino Ughi, Alex Verginer and Lorenzo Bilotti, stopped at the first heat thus ending in 21st place, on the day of the usual domination of the Germany home, with Francesco Friedrich who made it as master on the gut of the house. The German champion set the crew of compatriot Nico Walther by 20 cents, with the Teutonic hat-trick that was prevented only by Latvian Oskars Kibermanis, capable of burning Johannes Lochner's team for a penny (4 tenths from Friedrich). forced to 4th place in the return match after the injury he suffered during summer training that had knocked him out at the start of the season.
