For the first time a team of the Italian movement, Team Retornaz, wins two consecutive games in a Grand Slam tournament.

In Grand Prairie, Alberta, where the second major test of the 2022-2023 calendar is scheduled, the Tour Challenge, Team Trentino makes the history of Italian curling. The quartet no. 7 of the world ranking beat the Swiss team Hösli 8-2. Without the hammer in the first end, they conceded only 2 points in the fourth hand.
A truly remarkable performance for Jöel Retornaz (Fiamme Oro), Amos Mosaner (Air Force), Sebastiano Arman (Air Force) and the new entry Mattia Giovanella (Fiamme Oro). And to say that it is only the third Grand Slam of their career and it is the first time they are invited by the first seasonal event on ice since the Champions League.
The boys from Cembra, included in pool B, in the debut match on Tuesday won 6-3 over Team Flash, another opponent in the top ten of the ranking of the order of merit. For Team Retornaz it is the 24th match brought home out of 31 of this historic and sparkling start to the season, in which two titles (Stirling and Adelboden) have already arrived in 7 tournaments played.
Today at 20 the challenge with Brendan Bottcher could already be worth a sensational qualification to the quarter of the Tour Challenge.
