Extraordinary journey for the Italian curling national team that has been busy these days in Lethbridge in Canada at the World Championships.

Today the skip-driven team Joel Retornaz beat Switzerland 6-0 at the extra end, winning the sixth victory in the world competition.
The Italian team that in addition to Retornaz is composed of Mosaner, Arman and Gonin is very fast towards the playoff qualification. A result of historic significance because never in history has an Italian national curling team won so many matches in just one edition of the World Championships.
Thanks to this important success, Italy has risen to fifth place in the ranking on an equal footing with the United States. The Retornaz team boasts two lead wins over Scotland (currently seventh ed) and access to the knockout board (reserved for the top six round robin teams) is an increasingly concrete goal.
Now the Italy of coach Mariani will have to play for everything in the last 3 decisive matches to catch the qualification. In the Italian night the Azzurri will be back on the ice against the Netherlands, while tomorrow they will see each other against Sweden and then with Scotland.
The appointment with history is getting closer!
