The conference to present the finals of Cortina has been canceled, which remain on the calendar from 18 to 22 March

The event was scheduled in Milan on Friday 28 February: there is concern about the emergency in Veneto, but at the moment there is no change of plans.

It was quite predictable and confirmation has arrived today. The press conference for the launch of the World Cup finals scheduled for March 18-22 in Cortina was canceled, given that the event was expected to take place in Milan on Friday 28 February. The organizers confirmed that the measure was taken "following the ongoing health emergency and the measures adopted by the Ministry of Health, in agreement with the Lombardy Region". What will happen with the finals themselves? The event is confirmed in the FIS calendar and, unless the situation worsens further, it will be played even if there is the possibility that this will take place behind closed doors (as could happen on Saturday and Sunday in La Thuile). It is clear that Veneto is one of the regions at risk and has opted for the blocking of various sports activities for the week ending Sunday, March 1. There is confidence that another two weeks of time can lead to a normalization of this situation: in the current state of things, the World Cup finals are not at risk, but everything is monitored day by day, if not now for Now.
