Women's European Cup, it still takes patience: the first two giants in Hippach postponed for two weeks

The girls were supposed to start on December 5-6, but the Austrian organizers asked for a postponement due to the weather forecast. We will therefore start with next week's super-gs in Sankt Moritz.

It is a very troubled season at all levels, including the European Cup calendar. If today the boys started the continental circuit with the first of the two giants in Gurgl (Thursday will be repeated), the women's sector will have to wait beyond the next weekend. On Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December, in fact, it would have been necessary to compete in Hippach, in the two recovery giants of the first canceled races in Scandinavia; only three days after the first race, however, the Tyrolean organization has obtained the postponement of almost two weeks of the event, as the weather forecast indicates heavy snow and the same situation at the hotel level is critical. Here, taking advantage of the postponement of the descents in Val di Fassa, with a "hole" in the mid-December calendar, on the 16th and 17th of the month we will then go to Austria; Covid is not involved this time, but the girls will therefore have to wait for the debut until Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 December when, three days later than the World Cup, Sankt Moritz will host two super-gs (in the same days, already from Monday 7, the men will be in Zinal). After the Swiss stage, therefore, the women's European Cup will go to Valle Aurina for the two slaloms on December 12-13 and, after Hippach, back to Italy for two other giants, the Andalo classics on December 20-21.
