The World Cup will restart, five weeks after the opening in Soelden, with the pink circuit engaged in the unprecedented double slalom of Levi.
As is known, this year the Finnish town will host only girls, given that the FIS has decided to avoid as much as possible crossings with the men's circuit: appointment set for Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November on the "Levi Black", with the tests between the narrow poles always fixed at 10.15 and 13.15 (11.15 and 14.15 local time) as regards the starting times of the two heats.
We should have started again from the parallel of Lech / Zuers, but with the move two weeks ahead of the double appointment (women and men) in Vorarlberg, here it will be Levi to welcome back the maximum circuit; the conditions are not exactly exceptional in Lapland, especially in terms of natural snow, but also considering the work done with the snowfarming technique, the snow control scheduled for next week should not represent an obstacle for the organizers.
Organizers who will open the competitions to a limited audience, i.e. 3500 people, with tickets sold exclusively in advance and only to local spectators, who must all be equipped with a mask (a pair per person will be given free along with the coupon) with the exception of Under 12s.
And there will also be two special races for the long-awaited return of Mikaela Shiffrin, who should regularly fly from Colorado to Finland (where he won four times, ed), almost ten months after his last appearance in the World Cup. The duel with Petra Vlhova is already written (the Slovakian managed to beat the American in the 2017 edition), even if Swenn-Larsson will not agree, now a certainty, the same Wendy Holdener, a Liensberger always "complicated" to be interpreted and, who knows, some protagonists from Italy.
The relaunch of the specialty, with Irene Curtoni as a reference for young people such as Rossetti and Peterlini, who came by force last season (also in the European Cup with many victories, podiums and a fixed position), but also Lara Della Mea herself, finally gave hope to be able to see again some Azzurri in the fight at least for the top ten, and be careful because in Levi we will also see Marta Bassino and Federica Brignone, first and second in the general classification of the World Cup, in the race to try to collect some useful points.
In such a particular season, it is important to bring home a nice booty from the start ...
