Melanie Meillard's season is over: "I'm going to stop here, for now I'm not competitive"

The Swiss talent, who played four games after his post-injury return, is already aiming for 2020/21.

While his brother celebrated his first World Cup victory last Sunday, the path to a return to the top level still seems long for Melanie Meillard. Since her post-injury return in February 2018, when the knee crashed a few days before the Olympic debut, the 21-year-old Swiss has not obtained the qualification for any second round of the four races held between the end of December and mid-January, i.e. the slalom Lienz, Zagreb and Flachau, in addition to the giant from Sestriere. So Melanie has decided to end her season early, giving up the races of Kranjska Gora, Ofterschwang and Are: “My current level does not allow me to achieve great results in the World Cup - explained Meillard - After discussing it with the my coaches, the decision is not to participate in other races and to use this season finale and the summer to accumulate the necessary km on skis, as well as working on the physical condition, to present myself in the best way next year ".
