Cortina 2021
It was greeted with great warmth on the day of the official announcement, but now the Olympic champion is already thinking of the trip to Ushuaia.

Sofia Goggia was named the new Ambassador of the alpine skiing world championships that Cortina d''Ampezzo will host in 2021.
"An honor", defined the 26 year-old from Bergamo, who on the same day met the highest institutional expressions of the "Queen of the Dolomites", with the deus ex machina of Cortina 2021, Alessandro Benetton, particularly proud of having chosen the symbol of the Italian women's ski for this role, among other things very linked to Cortina if we think of the podiums (and success in 2018 downhill) obtained on the Olympia delle Tofane, but also in the Red Bull Contest organized a few weeks after the triumph of PyeongChang.
Together with Kristian Ghedina (whom the same Sofia met in Cortina yesterday), the son of these mountains and of the entire territory, Goggia will have an important responsibility for the launch of a world championship event that will live a very important prelude already in March 2020 ( races scheduled from 18 to 22), with the World Cup finals. There will therefore be no classic appointment at the end of January, during a vintage that the Olympic champion of the same descent will live trying to oust Mikaela Shiffrin from the throne.
Yes, because Goggia aims again at most in three specialties, starting from a preparation so far without a hitch and that, after the ten days between late July and early August at Les Deux Alpes, together with the other two points of the Elite group, Federica Brignone and Marta Bassino, will live from a crucial period on the Argentine snows with the blue ones starting on Wednesday 28 August for Ushuaia. It will be in Tierra del Fuego, where the same Shiffrin is training, that Sofia's ambitions can take flight.
