"A nice smile? I'll explain why ... ". This is how Sofia Goggia decided to talk about herself, the day after concluding the mega rally that saw her protagonist, among the many blue on the track, on the snows of Breuil-Cervinia.
The downhill Olympian has put together about ten perfect days to approach her season, that of speed which will start on December 5-6 with the two super-gs of Sankt Moritz (on a track that she loves where she collected the only success, in the same discipline, of the 2019/2020 vintage), but it will be preceded by the commitment that will see her return to the competition, exactly forty days after the excellent opening of Soelden (6th place), in the parallel of Lech / Zuers next Thursday.
Followed step by step by her mentor, the blue dt Gianluca Rulfi, Sofia described them as “ten perfect days in what I would define as the only“ white zone ”in Italy: Cervinia. Thank you, Cervinia, for the commitment and efforts you have put on the track for having created this fantastic "bubble" for us. A bubble made of snow, of cable cars working just for us, of intense training days, of curves made at over 130 per hour in optimal conditions, all always under a bright sun, the watchful eye of the Matterhorn and in what I would call the classic precautions that the Cervinia Hotel Sertorelli Spa always reserves for us.
In this bubble there is the usual skier routine but, given the period, everything is a bit more special and, to be honest, I don't remember ever having implemented such a profitable training in fast disciplines. I come home with an actual 40 minutes of downhill and roughly 20 minutes of super giant in the legs, a happy heart and the mental belief that I have added one more piece to the puzzle of skier completeness I'm trying to create ... and that I have been chasing all my life ".
