Now Sofia speaks: "I have run out of tears, but nothing happens by chance. My journey continues"

Twenty-four hours after the diagnosis of the fracture in the right knee, here are the thoughts of the Olympian. And thanks to the teammates.

Destroyed, with the world dream vanished in an amen, but ready to look forward as always, to start again after yet another injury. The first words of Sofia Goggia, the day after the Garmisch crash cost her participation in Cortina 2021 and the entire season finale. Thoughtful, introspective, here is the Olympic downhill champion: "After thirty hours I think I have run out of tears but the tremendous pain, mixed with the enormous sorrow, remains inside me strong, very strong, together with a heart that continues to wriggle, screaming and shouting silently. It is the screams and that feeling of helplessness on the track when I realized that the season was over, it is the look of my skiman that I could not support thinking of the broken dream but it is also the love of my companions when they surrounded me in a group hug all together, in the hotel reception before I returned to Italy: I take everything and take it with me. Things go as they have to go by fate, coincidences and choices; I want to think that nothing, nothing ever happens by chance and that everything contributes to the fulfillment of the plan of each of us: it has always been like this, and it will still be. In that perspective until yesterday there was the World Cup: I feel broken. But now that speculation does nothing but remind me that it is only by looking in there, looking up, focusing on things beyond our view that we can live, and however far I am physically from what that objective can frame, I seek to focus and chase it. To start again. To continue undaunted on the path. To move forward. Why must it be done. Usque ad finem. It takes courage, and now it is necessary to put it on the field ”. Only the brave.
