It was not really the start of the season hoped for, that of Anna Swenn-Larsson.
The leader of the Swedish slalom team had already had to say goodbye to Levi's double opening in her specialty, due to the positivity of the manager Christian Thoma. Anna, as well as her companions, had tested negative in four tests, including the PCR test carried out once they returned to Sweden from Finland; he had thus been given permission to return to training on the snows of Are, but today (two weeks after that Wednesday when the Sweden case broke out in Levi) the worst news arrived.
The vice world champion in slalom was in fact positive at Covid, and the news reached her as she was about to board the flight that would take her to Italy, given that from Friday 4 December the Swedish national team will train on the snows of Cervinia; Swenn-Larsson will not be able to do it, therefore forced to stop again, she who would return to the race anyway only at the end of December, on the occasion of the Semmering slalom scheduled for 29th of the month. The good news is that it has no symptoms, at least for now. “It is difficult to accept - explained Anna in the press release issued by the Swedish Federation - and I just can't understand when it could have been infected, I was practically isolated and, in the few cases where I met people, always at the right distance.
In this situation it is difficult to look far and to the goals of the season, first of all I will have to be negative and then start over. When that day arrives, we will see where we are and we will get to work ”.
