Federica Brignone finally had the chance, after two summers totally conditioned by physical troubles, to return to Argentina to fully prepare in winter conditions.
The valdostaval multipurpose is about to begin the last week of activity in Ushuaia, in the company of Sofia Goggia and Marta Bassino, but also of the other World Cup groups, from the multipurpose to the slalomists arrived later in Tierra del Fuego than the three girls of the Elite group.
"Things are going very well - explains Federica - and we have found all the conditions in the first two weeks, both in terms of weather and tracks. We started with some double supergiant sessions together with fellow sprinters, then a couple of days were dedicated to the giant on more difficult slopes and in the next few days we will concentrate more on the intensity, always in giant. The goal was to divide the training month into two blocks of about 15 days, now we work on quality. I am happy to ski this summer after two years in which I have been forced to skip this period for various injuries, it will be a job that I will need a lot during the winter â€.
The Brignone-Goggia-Bassino trio will return to Italy at the end of September, a few hours before the slalom players, while the multipurpose skiers will ski in Ushuaia until 6 October.
In the next few hours, the return of the men's teams will be completed: after sprinters and slalomists, the World Cup gigantists will return to Italy at the weekend, while the boys of the European Cup will train until the end of September.
