An easy first run, but only on paper for the ninth slalom of the season which saw the men's World Cup return to Chamonix.
Yes, because on the "Verte des Houches" there were difficulties and some surprises, first of all the sensational fork of Henrik Kristoffersen in the double final, which costs the Norwegian a very heavy zero in view of the general and specialty World Cup (HK94 did not come out from the slalom of a year ago in Schladming). The direct rival Pinturault is in fact a good fourth, 48 cents from an increasingly solid Daniel Yule (and with the chance to take the red bib) and in front of everyone with 24 cents on Clément Noel, who started with bib 1 and quite wary, but ready to look for the third win of the season in the 2nd round scheduled from 13.00, and on a great Stefano Gross, third at 47 cents with the bib number 20. Clean, precise as in the good old days, the Fassano seemed reborn after the difficulties in the classics of January.
If in 5th place we find Schwarz and Foss-Solevaag paired, but already more than 8 tenths apart (with Zenhaeusern glued in seventh place), for the other Azzurri it was a difficult first: Alex Vinatzer, back from a heavy flu, did not never found the rhythm for half the track before getting on, the same for Simon Maurberger who had started the attack anyway, while Giuliano Razzoli was disputing a solid test, before making a mistake on the final bump and putting on another exit after Schladming, heavy in optics starting lists.
