He stroked again what would have been the first podium in the World Cup, winning the fourth top five of his super-g career and the third ... fifth place in the season, after Lake Louise and Kitzbuehel.
Bravissimo Mattia Casse in today's complicated Saalbach-Hinterglemm race, tackled (on the track designed by the Azzurri's technician, Alberto Ghidoni) with the bib number 1, even more so an extra "scab" in these conditions. As always, however, the Piedmontese sprinter does not look for excuses and is very clear in his post-race analysis: “Today starting with number 1 was not easy, but it is a condition that I like and I pushed hard, without thinking too much about it.
I lost something in the final part, but overall I'm satisfied. We will only reckon after Cortina, but I can say that I am getting closer to the best. The track? I think that if you start, it means that the conditions for doing the race are there and I must say that the organizers have done a good job. With the wind and snow that was there, I found a good track. "
Emanuele Buzzi, 14th and the best with bibs over 25, can say he is satisfied: “The track was still good when I went down, although clearly it went a bit 'to deteriorate. I am happy with the result, it gives me confidence and they are good points for qualifying for the finals. What I still miss is greater decision in certain conditions, when maybe I don't see very well ".
