The disqualification of Stefan Luitz by the FIS in the men's World Cup giant of Beaver Creek has come officially due to the famous oxygen business.

The International Ski Federation does not consider doping the case but violation of the rule 11.2 on anti-doping rules, which has not yet been conformed to WADA rules, the World Anti-Doping Agency, which does not consider oxygen intake prohibited under any circumstances, while FIS prohibits it in the places of competition.
Luitz has already communicated through his lawyers that he will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport by 31 January. In the meantime he will be granted a suspension of disqualification: his 100 points for the victory on the Birds of Prey will keep them and so he will avoid starting much further back than he is currently in the start list in the giant Adelboden.
For the record, the other Germans who competed in the second run of the giant in Colorado, namely Alexander Schmid and Fritz Dopfer, were not disqualified. In the event of a disqualification of Luitz even on appeal Marcel Hirscher would rise to 65 wins in the World Cup.
