A single point of detachment from Alexis Pinturault and the possibility of trying it seriously, in an absolute crystal sphere perspective.
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is among the candidates for the general World Cup, now there are few doubts, and here after the amazing 4th place obtained in Alta Badia (albeit on a shortened Gran Risa), the 27 year old Norwegian will also try in the giant Adelboden scheduled on Saturday (10.30 the 1st heat, 13.30 the second).
On the "Chuenisbargli", which AAK only tackled in 2017 (it came out during the first heat), a top ten would already be a great result, to then fly towards Wengen and play a lot between next Friday's combined and the following day's descent .
Kilde will be one of the 9 Vikings competing for a Norway that has a very high level formation: besides clearly the red breastplate Henrik Kristoffersen, we will see if Nestvold-Haugen will confirm his golden moment between the wide doors, but other signs are awaited also by Lucas Braathen, from the same Rasmus Windingstad positive on Gran Risa before winning in the parallel giant of the following day. For the slalom on Sunday, however, there will be the same 6 in the race in Campiglio, or Kristoffersen, Foss-Solevaag (4th on Canalone Miramonti), Nordbotten, Braathen, Nestvold-Haugen and Haugan.
GERMANY AND FRANCE
Only three Germans will be competing on Saturday between the wide doors, with Stefan Luitz flanked by Alexander Schmid and Julian Rauchfuss, the latter in search of the first points in the World Cup. For the slalom, Linus Strasser will lead a troop of six athletes, with Fritz Dopfer who will try to meet again and complete the team with Holzmann and Tremmel (very positive in the European Cup), as well as Ketterer and Stehle.
A novelty also in France, given that instead of Thibaut Favrot, who will focus on the giant, for the challenge between the narrow poles on Sunday there will be the debut in the World Cup of the young Théo Letitre, with the 22 year old from Albertville who won a bib after the good performances in the European Cup in Vaujany, with a 10th and an 8th place in the two slaloms on the French snow.
