The OESV has announced the imminent return to the World Cup of a quintet of luxury injuries, with Brennsteiner himself ready to return to skis next week after the meniscus crash suffered in Val Senales.

Five men ready to return, for an Austrian men's national team that finds important elements such as Stefan Brennsteiner, Roland Leitinger, Adrian Pertl, Christian Hirschbuehl and Daniel Danklmaier.
The Wunderteam has announced the updates on the various injuries that have affected first-tier athletes for the technical disciplines team in particular, starting with Stefan Brennsteiner (second best giantist in Austria after Manuel Feller) who broke his knee meniscus right, immediately operated, just under three weeks ago in Val Senales, thus losing the opening in Soelden. The 31-year-old from Salzburg will return to the snow in the middle of next week, with the more than realistic goal at this point of returning to the race for the second giant of the World Cup on 10 December on the Face de Bellevarde in Val d''Isère .
The appointment with the Critérium de la Prèmiere Neige is also in the sights of Roland Leitinger, forced to give up the first giant on the Rettenbach, as still with little training after the long stop to which the vice world champion 2017 was forced to the rupture of the Crusader remedied practically a year ago (it was November 9, 2021).
The other veteran from Salzburg who specializes in wide gates is confident for the return: "It's going quite well, I had several days of training right in Soelden, now I have to gradually get used to higher loads and keep fighting to be able to return to Val d''Isère ”.
Eleven months have passed since the last race, right on the “Face” when the cruciate of the right knee in giant broke, also played by Adrian Pertl; Cortina's world silver slalom has been back on skis for some time and is currently training in Soelden with teammates. If confirmed, the parallel of Sunday 13th in Lech / Zuers will most likely mark his return to the race, otherwise at the latest he will still be at the starting gate of the slalom opening, on 11 December on the snows of Val d ' 'Isère. "I am very happy, I can train without pain - explained the Carinthian through the OESV press office - I can put all the weight on my knees in training on the track, my goal now is to return to Lech".
The reigning champion of the Vorarlberg race, Christian Hirschbuehl (practically landlord there), is another athlete ready to return, 10 months after the fracture to his right ankle remedied in the Wengen slalom last January. After weeks of quality on the snow, the Austrian '90 class will be at the starting gate in Lech / Zuers.
Finally, speaking of the speed sector, there is good news for Daniel Danklmaier: last April, in the last downhill tests in Soelden, the 29-year-old from Wunderteam injured his anterior cruciate and meniscus in his left knee while landing from a jump. The recovery has been more than good, so much so that he can put his skis back on these days: when he can return to the World Cup is still to be evaluated, even if the North American trip is to be excluded. "I am training very well and I am looking forward to getting back on the snow in Soelden next week".
