Parallels of Lech / Zuers still in danger, the FIS will grant a few more hours hoping for the cold

From Friday in Vorarlberg some snow is expected, practically a week before the next CdM appointment. "Complicated mission, but we will fight until the last second", the organizers told Ski Racing.

The parallels of Lech / Zuers are still in danger, even if there is now some more hope of regularly competing in the third edition of the appointment with the only specialty race, along the slope of the "Flexenarena", in weekend of 12-13 November (Saturday the women's race, Sunday the men's). The problem is always the same, the snow that is difficult to produce even on such a short track (just 400 meters) like the one in Vorarlberg; a few hours ago, the Austrian organizers started to create the base thanks to the snow preserved in spring with the snowfarming technique, but it is not enough to set up the race track in a complete way. The FIS will grant a few more hours, compared to the snow control led by the manager Markus Mayr and scheduled for Thursday 3 November, since from Friday and for part of the weekend the temperatures will drop a little and the snow should arrive at altitude 1700 meters, where the locality of Zuers, which hosts the event, is located. It takes 48 hours of cold for the artificial snow that would guarantee the races, but there are currently no certainties. The same organization, to the colleagues of “Ski Racing”, candidly admitted that “it is a hard and complicated mission, but we will fight until the last second to make it happen”.
