World Cup 2022/23, it is getting worse: the parallels of Lech / Zuers have also been canceled

Despite the snowfall in the last 48 hours, today's FIS control said "no" to the dispute of the stage in Vorarlberg, scheduled for November 12-13 for women and men. No recoveries, six races have already been missed (and the female giant of Soelden to be recovered).

The postponement of a further 48 hours of the FIS snow control was not enough to save what should have been the only parallels scheduled for the 2022/23 World Cup. The appointment in Lech / Zuers, with the women's race on Saturday 12th and the men's one on Sunday 13 November, has been officially canceled and will not be re-entered in the calendar. Despite the natural snow that arrived at high altitudes in Vorarlberg since Friday, the high temperatures (also expected for the whole of next week) prevented the Austrian organization from working hard to complete the almost 400 meters of the "Flexenarena" track, which had already hosted the parallels in the previous two seasons. No third edition, therefore, and the races canceled definitively from this cup rise to six, after the four in Zermatt / Cervinia where the historic male and female descents should have been staged for the "Speed Opening" already postponed to next season. All in Levi, therefore, at least as regards the girls who will finally be able to start with the two slaloms (which will be confirmed this week, there is no doubt in this case) scheduled on the Finnish snows on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November, while the men they will face, after the Soelden giant won by Odermatt which remains the only race disputed so far, the speed triptych at Lake Louise from 25 to 27 November.
