Mathias Graf's choice: from slalom here is the transition to skicross. "I didn't enjoy myself anymore"

Twelve races in the World Cup, but many difficulties in the last year for the Austrian slalom rider who has decided to change discipline.

There is increasing talk of the entry of skicross into the panorama of alpine skiing disciplines. A process still in progress, but in the meantime there are those who have decided to put aside the posts and definitely change the scenario; we are talking about Mathias Graf, considered until a couple of years ago a promising slalomist from Austria, with 12 World Cup appearances and a single point result, a great 18th in the Kitzbuehel temple (January 2019). Never summoned to the top circuit during the last season, where placements are scarce even in the European Cup (in his career, at continental level he took home two third places), the 25-year-old native of Vorarlberg has thus decided to switch to skicross in the '' vintage 2021/22. "Lately things have not been going well and I have also lost the fun - Graf said at the Kronen Zeitung - But I still love skiing, so I face this new adventure and, hopefully, I will start competing from the end of November in Pitztal".
