"After this weekend we will spend ten days in Switzerland on the Saas-Fee glacier - says the 28 year old Carinthian -, so some of us will move on our glaciers at home. At the beginning of November we will fly to North America where we will prepare for two weeks the fast races of Lake Louise (the first of the World Cup men's jet, downhill and super-G on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 November, ndr) ".
When asked if the second Olympic gold changed his life, Mayer replied: "So far I have not realized it yet. I had a nice summer where I spent a lot of time myself, but I also trained hard. The people of Carinthia are proud of me and meet me with pleasure and I am very proud of this ".
Now Matthias is missing a world gold medal and a specialty cup: "A World Championship medal in Ã…re is a goal and I am intensely preparing for it. I also point to a specialty cup but I have to have more consistency at a high level and I'm working on this too ".
