The "Kronen Zeitung" anticipates a decision that seems already made. The technical historian of Marcel and dad Ferdi would have already been chosen by the OESV to revive a World Cup team in crisis.

They practically never stopped, given that a few weeks after the announcement of the withdrawal of Marcel Hirscher, the man who led to dominate the white circus for almost a decade, Michael Pircher and Ferdinand Hirscher were on the track to give a hand to young Austrian boys.
Last season, Marcel's dad personally followed two gigantists from Vorarlberg, celebrating his first European Cup victories with Patrick Feurstein, and seeing the '98 Thomas Dorner class get on the podium. Even Pircher himself, technical historian of the eight-time winner of the World Cup, was part of the team involved in the continental circuit and now, according to what the "Kronen Zeitung" reports today, it would be all done for the jump in the giant team World Cup.
The same great OESV head, Peter Schroecksnadel, had never hidden the desire to exploit the knowledge and experience of Pircher and Hirscher senior, and with the revolution in the Wunderteam already implemented since last summer by the director sportsman Toni Giger, now there are the premises to see the duo at the helm of a team in real crisis. There is talk of formalizing the technical cadres already this week, with Feller, Leitinger and companions called to redeem a sporting dramatic season in the discipline (with the negative record in the history of the Wunderteam in a giant race, marked by the 28th place of Feller in Garmisch).
They will not be able to do this by preparing as usual on the New Zealand snows, given that the federal decision not to face the trip overseas seems to have been practically already made, obviously due to the Coronavirus pandemic and all the consequences that derive from it.
