New knee problems for Aksel Lund Svindal

Bad news for Aksel Lund Svindal, who in the Bormio World Cup men's downhill on December 28th took a new blow to his disastrous right knee on the green ice of the Stelvio.

Despite this new trouble Svindal placing himself twelfth in that downhill and seventeenth in the super-G of the day after he has relatively saved the honor, especially thinking that his compatriot Kjetil Jansrud has finished out in both races. "If you're in the race, then you're full of adrenaline, you do not feel pain and it's not so bad - said Svindal to the Norwegian public broadcasting NRK - but the day after is really bad, if you do not get better before the world championships I will have to think if it makes sense to participate ". Svindal, who won two Olympic gold medals (in super-G in 2010 and downhill last February) and five world titles (two down in 2007 and 2013, two in combined in 2009 and 2011 and one in giant in 2007), he added: "So far things have gone better than I expected, but from that blow to Bormio I'm actually happy to have another ten days before Wengen and I can go back to doing what I did in training at the end of last season in training: bicycle, bicycle and bicycle ".
