The Swiss national team coach contributed to the race that will be staged on Tuesday 29th on Mont Lachaux: a night with 5 heats and 25 athletes competing, dreaming of bringing the format to the World Cup.

It is becoming a classic, either because the prize money is important and, taking advantage of a space on the calendar, the athletes themselves can train and have fun at the same time, or because the Crans-Montana slalom exhibition is proposed with an increasingly innovative and captivating formula.
Tuesday 29 December on Mont Lachaux, here is the event again with 25 specialists in the race (there will be no Azzurri), including many World Cup big names especially with regard to Switzerland and France, with Yule, Zenhaeusern, Noel (who won the last edition) to name a few.
And with a new format that the coach in charge of the Swiss slalom squadron, Matteo Joris from Valle d'Aosta, studied together with the head of the organizing committee, Marius Robyr: 5 heats in total and after each the worst 5 times are eliminated, reaching up to at the last with 5 athletes to compete, obviously always in a dry heat, the victory. "We studied it to avoid downtime and above all to give the public the opportunity to see the strongest athletes even 3, 4 and up to 5 times - explained Joris to" Ski Actu "- For those who watch the competition it is easy to understand, since the last ones are eliminated ”.
With heats of up to 30 seconds, for an idea that could reach the World Cup, at least this is the long-term dream: “Athletes appreciate this format, because they also have less time to wait between each round. I see the future of night slalom in it: it is more interesting than the parallel in my opinion and such tracks can also be found in cities. Not necessarily giving FIS points, but guaranteeing a nice prize money for the participation of the best athletes ”.
