Alice Robinson also dominates in super-g: at Coronet Peak Marchant returns, second race of Dutchman Meiners

Second stage of the Australian New Zealand Cup with a fast double race and a shining star ...

Coronet Peak hosted two super-gs in a single day, both for women and for boys, after the very difficult week (at the weather level) experienced at Mount Hotham. Without the blues in the race, the usual show signed on the snow of the house ... Alice Robinson: the phenomenal 17 year old New Zealand, in fact, has literally dominated the two fast tests, confirming to want to try to widen the field from his favorite specialty , the giant, thinking about the next World Cup season. Of course, there were only 17 members and the competition was anything but irresistible, but the detachments were impressive on a track of just over a minute in duration. In race 1, Robinson trimmed 1 "82 to the British Olivia Foster and 2" 28 to the Swiss Carole Bissig; in the reply, a great success with 1 "03 on Alex Tilley and 2" 05 on the Slovak Barbara Kantorova. As for the men, it was the day (in the Italian night) of the return to success of Armand Marchant, three years after the last time and almost 1000 days after the terrible injury of January 2017 in Adelboden; in recent weeks we have been telling the story of the suffering of the young and talented Belgian slalomgigantist, who in a specialty that wasn't his was able to put himself all behind, burning Adam Zampa and 27 Norwegian Marcus Monsen for 9 cents. The Dutchman Maarten Meiners, who preceded the Swedes Olle Sundin and Tobias Hedstroem, respectively 24 and 49 cents respectively, rejoiced in the second race; in 5th place Marchant, ahead of the same Adam Zampa and the Swiss Bissig. In the coming days, a giant and a couple of slaloms are planned.
