The summer season came alive with the second stage of the Australian New Zealand Cup.

And on the New Zealand snow of Coronet Peak a male and a female giant went on stage. After Armand Marchant, winner in the super-g of three days before, Belgium launches another young man that we have already noticed in the World Cup: the '98 class Sam Maes beat everyone between the wide doors, bending the one who had so far dominated overseas trials in specialty, the Austrian Magnus Walch who finished 2nd with 32 cents posting.
Third place, at 36 cents, for Adam Zampa who completes a more than noble podium. The Azzurri defended themselves, with a good Roberto Nani in ninth position, only 73 cents from the summit, while Daniele Sorio finished 13th, Stefano Baruffaldi 21st and Pietro Franceschetti much further away, in 47th place. Outside in the 1st round Alex Hofer and Lorenzo Thomas Bini.
The surprise came from the women's race, with Alice Robinson losing the seasonal unbeaten run: the New Zealand star finished in second place, at 38 cents from the promising American ('98) Storm Klomhaus, paying an error in the first run and without the comeback in the decisive run was enough to win again on the home snows after dominating the super-g. Third place, to 43 cents of posting, for the Polish Maryna Gasienica-Daniel already winner last season in the European Cup, with the double in giant in Andalo.
Only two blue in the race, the very young Greta Lattuada and Ottavia Barra Caracciolo (both class 2002), who finished in 23rd and 28th position respectively.
In the Italian night between Friday and Saturday, Coronet Peak will continue with another giant before the two final slaloms, while the South American Cup races scheduled in Las Lenas, Argentina have already been definitively canceled.
