Crans Montana, novelty with a men's slalom exhibition in mid-January: a test for the 2025 World Cup

The Swiss town will host a race open to big players with a rich prize pool, in addition to the usual stage of the Women's World Cup scheduled for the end of February

Crans Montana shows his muscles and inserts another novelty into his book of high-level races for the 2019/2020 season. On 15 January 2020, in fact, the track on the Mont Lachaux will host a special male slalom at night, in the form of an exhibition and with a rich prize pool (40,000 Swiss francs, the equivalent of around 35 thousand euros) to attract the big names of the circuit of the World Cup (25 athletes will be admitted), engaged in the "slalom month" since before the race in the Canton of Valais, the trials of Zagreb, Campiglio and Adelboden will be staged, with the classic Wengen on the Sunday following that date chosen by the Swiss organizers. Crans Montana is the strong point on the assignment of the alpine skiing world championships in 2025, for which it is a candidate in competition with Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and this nocturnal slalom would serve as a test towards the world championship; in addition to the exhibition appointment on January 15th, the Women's World Cup will be back with descent and combined scheduled for February 22-23, 2020, preceded by a week of two women's Cup European descents.
