Livigno is the candidate chosen by the FISI to host the Cup weekend dedicated to the parallel in November 2020

The latest on the news of the upcoming season already announced by the international federation.

As we wrote a few days ago, between the Soelden opening scheduled for 24-25 October 2020, and the Levi slalom that will take place four weeks later, the FIS will include a World Cup weekend entirely dedicated to parallel. On 14-15 November 2020, in fact, a parallel slalom (both male and female) and a team event, as the second stage of the maximum circuit, will be staged; the news of the last hours, reported by colleague Vittorio Savio on fantaski.it, is that Livigno will be the candidate chosen by the FISI to try to bring two days of competitions to Italy. The places left in contention, in addition to the Valtellina jewel that is investing heavily in winter sports, are Oslo (which renounced this year's New Year parallel, held for two years), the same Levi for a double weekend of races in Finland, and Obergurgl who would be in pole position for Austria, even if in this case other possibilities remain open besides the Tyrol. Livigno would like to create a real snow festival to open the 2020/21 season, bringing in the "Piccolo Tibet" also a stage of the Snowboard World Cup and a cross-country sprint (even if in this case an exception would be needed for run at an altitude of 1800 meters), making use of the new ring inaugurated last October 19th and on which the best athletes in the world are training.
