In 25 days the opening ceremony of the world championships in Cortina; the words of the minister for youth policies and sport.

The hope on the possibility that at least a small part of the public could watch live the Alpine Ski World Championships starting in Cortina on February 8th, with the women's alpine combined (preceded the day before by the opening ceremony), was now gone for weeks. The umpteenth confirmation came in the last few hours from the CTS, with the ratification now awaited by the Conte government for a world championship event "behind closed doors". The minister for youth policies and sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, entrusted his comment on the social networks: "Unfortunately, we must take note that the Technical Scientific Committee considered the participation of the public in the Cortina Ski World Championships too high a risk in this moment - the minister's words - will still be a great event, the biggest since the Coronavirus appeared. We will follow the races with every possible means, television and digital, with even greater passion. The eyes of fans from all countries will look to Italy and Cortina, to the athletes, to the wonder of the Dolomites. The pandemic has increased the difficulties, but safety will be guaranteed for both athletes and workers ”.
